Healthcare and Insurance
Section outline
-
What happens when you become sick in the Netherlands? And how does your AON insurance policy work? The Dutch healthcare system may be different from what you are used to. If you have any pre-existing health concerns and/or you take chronic medication, you should start familiarizing yourself with healthcare in the Netherlands early. But even if you don’t have any health concerns, it’s still good to learn what to expect ahead of time.

The AON insurance webinar is organized for all international students in the Netherlands. Information will be general and not everything will necessarily apply to you. For example, you won’t need to apply for insurance yourself.
The following applies to IHE students:
- You don’t need to apply yourself
IHE will apply for AON student insurance on your behalf. You will receive your insurance policy via email prior to arriving in Delft. - Complete+ policy
You will be insured with the AON Complete+ policy. - AON insurance is required
All IHE MSc students are required to be insured via AON student insurance. It is not possible to opt out and choose a different insurer.
