Arrange sufficient cash funds
It may take some time to set up your bank account. We advise you to bring (and exchange into Euros) sufficient cash to bridge the time it will take to open your bank account. If you are bringing euro’s, make sure to exchange them into smaller bills (up to 50 euro bills), as you will have a hard time finding stores that accept bills of 100 euro and up in the Netherlands.
The amount you need will change from person to person based on personal needs and lifestyle, so we cannot give a specific recommended amount. We suggest using the following websites to make an estimate based on your situation:

November rent
Note that you have either already paid your rent for November, or your November rent will be subtracted from your first monthly allowance. You do not need to include your rent when determining how much cash to bring.
