• Irrigation Performance Assessment

    • WaPORIPA (beta) github repository now available

As part of the course, we updated our WaPORWP repository on github, which was developed under the WaPOR phase 2 project (using the WaPORv2 database). The WaPORIPA repository has updated functions using xarray and is able to utilise both WaPORv3 data and pyWaPOR outputs. You can use the current beta version to calculate the following indicators:

      Land and water productivity

      • Dry biomass production (TBP) and yield (requires crop type information)
      • Water Productivity (biomass and/or crop)

      Irrigation performance indicators

      • Adequacy compared to 95th percentile
      • Beneficial Fraction
      • Uniformity
      • Relative water deficit
A next version will include blue ET, crop water requirement (CWR) and adequacy compared to CWR. In addition, we will update the crop and yield gap script from WaPORWP.
