WaPOR Validation
In this module, you will be introduced to common practices in validation of remote sensing datasets in general, the WaPOR data layer quality assurance and validation carried out to validate WaPOR data layers, and how perfume validation of some of the data layers (precipitation, actual evapotranspiration, biomass) yourself. This module consists of the following three units:
- Common practices of validation of remote sensing data
- Introduction to WaPOR Quality assurance and validation
- Validation of WaPOR data layers
The overall learning objective of the module is that after following this module you will be able to:
- Explain the quality assurance cycle and the role of data validation
- Describe validation techniques and steps for WaPOR data products
- Calculate performance metrics to validate WaPOR data products (PCP, RET, AETI, NPP, biomass)
- Discuss the limitations and challenges of ET models and WaPOR database products
