Leaning objectives of Unit CP - IWM - Monitoring and Control

This unit on IWM - Monitoring and Control deals with the selection of an appropriate technology for waste water, the different treatment options available, and some specific case-studies. After you have read this unit, you are able to:

1. Get an insight into the different waste water characteristics, quality considerations and socio-political aspects of selecting and appropriate technology.

2. Understand the different treatment processes, such as physical, chemical, biological and advanced oxidation processes for waste water treatment, and 

3. Learn IWM from the illustrated examples of a cooling system, ethylene cracker and laundry wastewater.
