Introduction to Module 5
In the previous section you reflected on your research and how it can be mapped out. You used this to communicate your work more clearly; into distinct, coherent messages. You also analysed the language you use and found alternatives as well as analogies to explain things to non-specialists. In this module we will consider how numbers and statistics can be used to add more weight to your message.
Upon successful completion of this module you will be able to:
- Select the statistics that will be most meaningful to your audience
- Communicate statistics more effectively to add more weight to your message
- Tell a story through the numbers
- Identify the difference of communicating numbers and statistics to non-specialists and journal readers
