    • Day 2

      On the second day of the course, we'll review the activities from the previous day and answer any questions from the group. Then participants will have time to complete a tutorial on how to work with open data and open sources software. At the end of the day, we'll have a wrap-up session and showcase some of the outputs from the course.

      Schedule

      9:00 - 10:00 CEST: Review of previous day’s activities, instructions for tutorials (Virtual Classroom)
      10:00 - 14:00 CEST: Self-paced tutorials
      14:00 - 15:00 CEST: Wrap up (Virtual Classroom)

      Tutorial 2: Upload your data to SDI Africa URL

      Now you have downloaded data from OpenStreetMap and saved the shapefile and SLD files, you can upload the data to an SDI.

      Watch the video and do the following steps:

      1. Log in to SDI Africa (instructions below)
      2. Upload a shapefile (optional: upload a GeoTIFF from WaPOR for your study area)
      3. Add metadata
      4. Add the style by uploading the SLD file
      5. Create a map by combining your layer with other existing layers in the SDI

      During the live wrap up session we'll look at the results.
