2 - Visualise your research

Activity instructions

  1. Choose one statistic from your own research and choose a program to visualise it.  There are two examples below, one created with Google Charts, and one with Piktochart.  
  2. We will ask you to submit your visualisation on the next page as a document. Please make sure it is in one of the following formats: jpg, PNG, doc, or PDF. 


This article has more advanced data visualisation tools, for some of them programming language may be required. Most offer free trials.

Worked example 1: This chart was made in Google sheets using the map option, and shows what percentage the Nile Basin makes up of any given country’s area.  The original spreadsheet for this can be found here, if you want to make a copy of it and make your own.  



Worked example 2: Using facts from this text article, we used Piktochart to make this graphic.
