In the previous section you learned to determine the features of high quality press releases and media statements, and to develop your own. You may also have found out more about how to work with the press office at your institution. In this module we turn to public speaking, and how to talk to the press in particular.
Upon successful completion of this module you should be able to identify good and bad practices in preparing for and taking a media interview, including:
Developing effective speaking habits
Preparing for interviews
Conveying a clear, persuasive message
Since this module is about public speaking, we will ask you to find someone to practice some of the activities with. Make sure you have someone in mind already.
