Introduction to Module 3
In the previous module you explored how the media works and considered the best way for developing relationships with journalists. A good way to improve the way you work with journalists is to sometimes think like one.
In Module 3 you will learn how to make science interesting to a wider audience, including journalists. Many of the activities in this module will get you to think like a journalist.
Upon successful completion of this module you will be able to:
- Establish what it is about your science that will make an audience sit up, and listen (activity 1) .
- List the ingredients of newsworthy stories and find these in scientific papers (activity 2)
- List newsworthy information from scientific papers (activity 2)
- Organise your research findings into something newsworthy (activity 3)
